31st July 2010 Barking FC Host FA Skills Day for 5-11 year old

 arking FC hosted a full day of Skills coaching in association with the FA Skills programme on Friday 30th July.

Barking FC has really got its act together this season. As part of its new 5 year plan the club wants to involve local junior clubs in sessions on its stadium pitch.
Sharing its history as well as its facilities the club has offered junior clubs the chance to be coached at Pre-Match events on the pitch.
UEFA qualified coaches conduct sessions, along with small sided games on the pitch. A quick tour of the first team changing rooms to see where the managers make their team talks & also where the injuried players get treated in the physio room.

After the coaching sessions the youth teams line up & cheer the players on the pitch.

The club is currently developing a strong youth policy of its own. This season sees two additional youth Teams being developed & further teams in the near future. Discussions are currently being conducted to formalise its own Scholarship scheme for school leavers. The scholarship scheme will be a combination of 9 hours of football specific training & coaching, along with educational classes to support foundation knowledge in the players chosen subject. Pathways for young people are endless that take on the scholarship scheme which will obviously include playing opportunities within Barking FC. Players within the scheme will represent the club in the Youth Conference league, the strongest youth league outside of the professional game.   FA Skills & Barking FC Pre match Skills day dates available.

 All youth teams both girls & boys are very welcome to apply for one of the events.

At each event the teams will be received by the 1^st team coach a couple of hours before Kick-off.

Training on the pitch will be technical & tactical fun sessions, that will hope improve team & individual performance. Match practice will be a major part of the session.

Teams will be on the pitch for 1 hour, prior to Kick –off with a rest off the pitch until half time where they will take part in a penalty competition. All results & photo’s will be put on our website.

To secure a place for your team please email club secretary at Barking fc. Its all free coaching for your teams but you need to send a returnable deposit of £15 made payable to the Club. This ensures teams turn up to the event and stops disappointment to other teams.
